Thank you Cosmedix for peeling the years off my face!

Several years ago while managing a salon, I had a Cosmedix Timeless Peel done.  It was more for being a practice dummy for the aestheticians than my actually wanting or probably needing it done at that time, but since many years have passed and I now have fine lines, wrinkles, and larger pores I decided to do it all over again.  I had my consultation about two weeks before I had the peel so that I could voice any and all concerns to my medical aesthetician.  She had me prep my skin by using Cosmedix Define daily or every other day until a few days before my appointment for the peel.  I had already noticed a difference just from using the Define and I went in last Friday for my appointment (make sure if you decide to do this, that you go to a reputable day spa or dermatologist...if the peel isn't done properly, it can cause serious damage to your skin).

Since it had been so many years, I had forgotten the process.  The appointment didn't take long at all.  She basically cleansed my face and put a jesner peel on, then after several minutes, the second Timeless Peel on.  It does sting a bit, but nothing terrible by any means.  I left the salon with the peel still on my face and was oh so SHINY, but was able to go out to dinner that evening for a friend's birthday.  During dinner my face began to get red and of course, still shiny.  When I got home that evening I washed my face and could immediately begin to feel the tightening of my skin.  By the time I woke up Saturday morning, the shine and redness had drastically reduced.  I gently washed my face again and put my sunscreen on and we traveled to my hometown to visit friends and family.  (another note...if you plan on doing this you have GOT to use sunscreen daily to prevent the new skin from damage as it peels)  By the end of the evening my forehead and chin were starting to peel, again...nothing too terrible, but the process had began!!!

Saturday morning I woke up and was one peeling Mama!  I gently washed my face again and put on my sunscreen.  Since I had forgotten to grab Cosmedix Reflect on Friday before leaving town, I used my regular sunscreen.  I had to be careful to just press the product in and since it's a white lotion, it made my already peeling face look even more flaky....to put it simply, I was VERY happy to grab the Reflect this morning since it is a spray and MUCH easier to apply.  Much thanks to my medical aesthetician Alana for the product recommendation!

The first thing one of my best gals asked me was if it hurt...and it doesn't, or at least not in my opinion.  It just feels a little tight..nothing like a sunburn where when warm water hits it for the first day or two it burns like crazy.  My skin beneath the already peeled areas looks amazing!  I can't wait to see the finished product.  My main concerns were some larger pores located under my eyes by my nose, a few wrinkles on my forehead, but mainly the lines around my mouth which I have been annoyed with for the last several years and am trying alternatives to fillers.  The lines on my forehead are no longer noticeable and the pores around my nose have drastically reduced.  Since my mouth is still peeling and some of the areas under my eyes are still peeling, I can't exactly tell how everything is going to look....but seriously CAN'T WAIT!!

If you have any questions regarding the peel process, the down time, what to expect, etc...feel free to just post something below.  I am more than happy to answer any questions and if I don't have the answer, then I can ask one of our medical aestheticians.  We are always happy to help and advise you on all of your beauty needs.

Until next time....stay tuned and stay beautiful!
