Before we start, let’s get a better understanding of these basic terms:

Type of Coverage

  • FULL COVERAGE:  Best option if you prefer fuller coverage makeup and want to conceal any areas of concern that need more coverage like blemishes or discolorations.  This foundation can tend to feel heavier.
  • MEDIUM COVERAGE:  Best option if you may have a few areas of concerns that require coverage.  This foundation, although a lighter feel than full, will still be heavier feeling than a sheer formula.
  • SHEER COVERAGE:  Best option if you may have very little problem areas and are looking more to even skin tone.  This foundation will feel the lightest.

Type of Finish

  • MATTE:  has no shine or shimmer 
  • SEMI-MATTE:  has a subtle glow
  • SATIN:  has a glossy and smooth look and will help reflect natural light

DRY AND COMBINATION SKIN

Quick tip:  For dry skin, treat with a moisturizer prior to makeup application.  You can also try moisturizing makeups, like a tinted moisturizer, for extra hydration.
